Yes, it’s that time of year when we celebrate the holidays with the Holiday Parade, held the Friday of Thanksgiving week on November 29th. It’s the official kick-off of the holiday season in downtown Alpena! (Santa maintains regular visiting hours throughout the holiday season in his little workshop in the town plaza.)
It is always a magical event which begins in the early evening amidst festive, lighted parade floats; a special welcome for Santa’s arrival; and the awesome tree-lighting of the huge outdoor tree at Culligan Plaza.
Be sure to visit all the downtown merchants who have their stores and buildings decked out for the season. And stop by the Center Building lobby to see our tree where decorations are scheduled to be up in the nick of time for the parade. (Pictured here is the Center Building tree from last year!)
Ho! Ho! Ho!
